I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want
and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skill I want.
And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones
and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life.
And I am horribly limited. - Sylvia Plath

Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate

Title/Author: Fallen by Lauren Kate
Number of pages: 452
Series: Fallen #1
How I got it: Barnes & Noble
Rating: 3/5

Goodreads Summary:
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her

My Review:
I have really mixed feelings on this book. In the beginning I really enjoyed the characters, especially Arriane - she's so fun and crazy (literally). But as the story went on, the characters personalities kind of were ehhh. I also felt like there were alot of loose ends, questions unanswered. I especially wanted to know who the hell was that guy in the cemetary posing as Cam's "dad". Stuff like that really urks me.

I also felt like there was no climax. The majority of the story was like setting up the plot, but in the end the plot wasn't even explained very well. I said to myself at the end "that's it? that's all you're going to give me??"

So now I feel like I HAVE to read the next book in this series to fully understand the whole story. I gave this book 3 stars because I really think it has potential, if only the author would have explained it better.
